Jewelry is my escape. My rebellion. My freedom.
It all started with a ring for Parnaz, the love of my life. One design turned into another, then another. And another. And soon she was convincing me to make more. First as gifts, then to explore what I could create next. Immediately it became something more—a meditation, a therapy, a way to get in touch with my emotions.
I come from a place of vast horizons, where the land stretches silent and uninterrupted. Yet, art there is never quiet. It is bold and maximal. The imagined heavenly nature finds its place in carpets, ornaments, calligraphy, and poetry. I exist between those two extremes—minimal by nature and maximal by culture. I feel that I am finding my way of holding that tension.
Jewelry, for me, is more than adornment—it is a medium, a tool to explore. It allows me to experiment with forms and shapes that architecture often restrains. Architecture is slow, you wait years, navigating an arduous process before an idea comes to life, if it does! But in jewelry, the act of creation is immediate and instinctive—it gives me the velocity to experiment, to sculpt without hesitation, and to zoom into the intimate world of the body.
Designing is my therapy, a way of dreaming. I think of my loved ones when I design. I picture their hands, the way they gesture, the way they ornament themselves, consciously or not. My jewelry is an essence of that thought.
